This information gives you basic information on your computer. That is to say version of Windows, main technical characteristics (processor, ram) as well as the mark of the computer.

Explanation

Go to the Control panel (Démarrer menu / Control panel).

Under Windows XP, click to the left on 'Toppling over towards classical display' if the Control panel is not already in this disposition.


Double-click 'System ' the icon.

A new window is displayed and introduces basic information on its computer.

Application

In the upper part of the 'General ' thumb-index, information on the operating system, that is to say the version of Windows (95, 98, Miss, XP) and other data are found. Then, the name of the user is pointed out.


In the lower part of the window, it is possible to see technical data on the computer as the mark of the processor (Intel, AMD), its frequency (in GHZ), the random access memory (Ram in Mb) without forgetting the name of the producer of the computer.


In the thumb-index 'Name of the computer', it is useful to point out that it is possible to change the name of the computer as well as the network to which it belongs.

Remark

It is possible to determine the version of Windows leaving to Start / to Carry out and by knocking: winver. A window 'Regarding Windows' shows information on Windows.
