Freyrdaam is an acoustical group guitar-voice offering pieces in a style pop-folklore. In search of an arranger to bring an orchestral colour in their music, I accepted their proposal.
This mock-up brings an additional orchestral dimension notably by giving a bass more solid than in the original piece. Of many contrechants (violins, oboe, flute) allow to bring discreet variations which enrich monotonous verses in harmony and rhythmics. Introduction, transitions and conclusion were réecrites to bring additional melodies. Sound mixing was seen again to bring more thickness in voice (reverberation) as well as a better presence of the guitar (panning).
This arrangement allowed to work on a foreign piece by respecting the pressures of structure of the piece and of harmony. This mock-up was not kept by the group because the dimension pop of the group was less marked to the advantage of direction more music of film/orchestrale.

Quistis is sign to the University of Squall but a good combatant is nevertheless. His traditional school side is put forward by the violin soloist supported by a harpsichord. The snare drum and the horn suggests the military side of Quistis.

The Rock - In New Beginning |

Orchestral composition created under Cubase. Melancholic theme is alone developed in the piano. The orchestra accompanies the melody then progressively: strings with a contrechant by violoncellos then theme is then interpreted alone by strings and winds. Rhythm changes the binary in the ternaire, marked by choruses and progressive arrival of strings and of copperwares on a final of taikos.

This piece registers in the style of the symphonic metal, that is it alloys orchestra, guitar, drum kit and synthé. This composition becomes divided into three sections articulated around a central theme. The first section introduces the melody in violins leaving in turn the first role in the flute, the guitar; the group regulated by the double pedal of the drum kit. The central part of the piece leaves the place in a guitar solo on bottom of synthé. To finish, composition takes back initial theme in the piano supported by the only orchestra. Guitar played and recorded by myself.
